COMMITTEE REPORTS
Water Level:

Water Quality/Secchi disc/Chemical MonitoringJim McGonigle reported that 3-4 weeks ago he checked the water clarity and samples were sent to RMB Laboratory . Spring reading east side lake clarity 23.5 feet, west side 20 feet. June reading east side clarity 22 feet, west side 17 or 18ft ( weather conditions might have influenced the result, it was cloudy during the reading) . Jim is going to be trained on new air quality testing. Connect with Jim for more information. Chlorophyll readings are good. Phosphorus level has gone up to 16.6.

Fisheries:
Gene Champeau reported that 2.4 million walleye fry were stocked in the lake this
spring. This spring fingerlings were stocked in the lake as well. A Muskie survey will be done in August, and a complete study will be ready for our annual meeting in 2026.
Electrofishing will be completed this fall and a good finding will be 40 walleye per hour.
Gene Champeau reported that last winter the fishing was good. There is no indication of any long term decline at this time. Presence of zebra muscle on the lake leads to a slower walleye growth rate.
Morrison County Land Use Amy Kowalzek, Director of Land Services, introduces the Morrison County Assessment Form. The Morrison County Assessment Form was sent via mail to Lake Alexander owners this spring. Please make sure to fill and send it to the Morrison County office. If you are a new home owner and have not received the assessment please check with the Morrison County Land Services. Amy Kowalzek reported that a new shoreline
owner guide will be coming soon. Morrison County has Shoreline specialists for any questions that arise. New contractor licensing will also be in effect in the next few months. Make sure to check the accreditation of the contractor prior to utilizing their
services as it is the owner’s responsibility. Please check the Morrison County Land Services website for updates and information.
